24/25 Football Kits: My Personal Favourites
Author: David Skilling on X
As the 2024/25 football season kicks off, it's not just the players' performances on the pitch that catch our attention—it's also what they're wearing. From iconic designs to bold new looks, this season's kits are a feast for the eyes, each telling its own story. Whether it's a tribute to club history, a nod to local culture, or a fresh, modern take on a classic design, these kits do more than identify a team—they embody the spirit and identity of the club.
Here are some of my favourites for the upcoming season, celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship, and sheer style that make these kits stand out. So, let's dive in and explore the jerseys that are turning heads in the 2024/25 season.
Napoli 2024/25 EA7 home & away kit
The SSC Napoli away jersey for the 2024/2025 season stands out for its elegant design and attention to detail, celebrating the tradition and innovation of the club. The match shirt represents the club's institutional image, enhancing the simple yet elegant lines with retro details.
Ajax 2024/25 adidas home kit
AFC Ajax’s 24-25 home kit is inspired by the club's polo collar shirts of the 1990s and 2000s.
This refined, timeless design is a nod to the club’s "Super Invincibles" squad of 1995. During the 1994-95 season, Ajax clinched the Eredivisie title and won the Champions League without a single defeat in either competition.
Athens Kallithea FC 2024/25 Kappa home & away kit
Years before Athens Kallithea were the style icons that they are today, largely due to the collaborative efforts of the club and Kappa, upon the club’s founding in 1966, they played in white shirts with navy shorts, which prompted fans to give them the nickname "England”.
Leaning into that history, the club has produced a nostalgic jersey reminiscent of ‘90s-era England.
FC Versailles 2024/25 Kappa home kit
The Kappa FC Versailles 24-25 home shirt, featuring the Versailles parquet pattern in gold on a predominantly blue base, pays homage to the parquet flooring iconic of the Château de Versailles.
OGC Nice 120th Anniversary 2024-25 Le Coq Sportif Away Kit
Founded on 9 July 1904, OGC Nice is one of the most famous clubs in French football.
For its 120th anniversary, two brands steeped in history have joined forces to create a shirt that pays tribute to a glorious past and a promising future. This is how the 2024-2025 version of the away shirt was conceived, the result of collaboration between the club and its equipment supplier Le Coq Sportif.
U.S. Triestina Calcio 2024/25 Kappa home kit
This release marks the debut of U.S. Triestina Calcio’s partnership with Kappa, a supplier that continues to strengthen its presence in Italian football. The city of Trieste has been historically linked to the halberd since the 13th century, a symbol that has naturally become central to the Triestina emblem.
Those are just a few of my favourites from a style perspective. I think all of these could pass as fashion items as much as practical football shirts, and I do like to see clubs thinking beyond the pitch when it comes to kit design.
